Masochist?
Just kidding, I am constantly avoiding eye-stabbings when I lean in to get a whiff of the flowers.
I am trying to not be very jealous of your situation.
Do you need a groundskeeper, perhaps?
Will work for room and board

HAH!
You can't catch me on that one.
I have spent most of my life as a 135# hyperactive.
I have worked for room and board.
They always complained at how much I ate, that I was costing too much in food.
Now, that my metabolism has slowed down a bit, my biggest problem is that I still eat like a "135# hyperactive".
The yard work is my therapy.
It helps burn off all the extra fuel I take in.
I won't even share it with M'Lady.
Even though, keeping the jungle at bay is a constant and loosing battle.

Rather than beginning another thread, I'll just add to this one.
Had a bit of a wind storm last night. I thought it was time to check the yard out to see how things fared.
I've been busy with other things and haven't checked my orchids for a while.
2 Vandas and 3 Oncids have new spikes in various stage. The Rhyncostylus gigantia 'Red' X 'Alba' has a well developed many buded spike going. The buds look as if they may end up being "spotted". We'll see when they open.
I almost missed this one. Its flowers are a bit beyond prime. It is a different plant but the same hybrid as the one in the 4th photo at the beginning of this thread.
Then, this is the same Speckled Spire 'Snowflake' in the earlier photos. It finished the first spike and then developed these two.
More to come when the Vandas and the Oncid types including a Psycopsis open up.
EDIT:
I have not gone to the Sunday market for several weeks now. My orchid acquisitions have slowed down. I've finally gotten up "early" and will be going again this morning. Got fruit, produce and orchids on my mind.

I ran across my main orchid pusher today while at the market.
I hadn't bought an orchid since the batch gotten from the closing down greenhouse.
I couldn't pass this one up, a Odcdm. Sunny Daze 'Hilo Bay'. It is not fragrant.
I was temped by a few others but resisted. I've got a place picked out on one of my trees for this one. But, I'll need to do a bit of figuring to decide where more should be going.

Well, I got the Odcdm. Sunny Daze 'Hilo Bay' mounted on its tree.
Then, my new camera was delivered.
I had to take some photos to try it out.
Naturally, the new orchid had to be one of the test subjects.

Yeah, but ... there is a cost.
We live in the Puna District.
Our address is a Pahoa address.
If you have paid any attention to news coming out of Hawai'i lately, you've probably heard something about a lava flow that was threatening the town of Pahoa.
Things have calmed down a bit, but the lava flow is still on going and not likely to stop any time soon.
We live only 3 miles from all the action.
Our consolation is that is is not threatening our place and is not likely to [fingers crossed behind my back].
I probably should retract that statement.
I certainly do not want to draw Pele's attention.

Rhy. gigantia 'Red' X 'Alba' + NoID Vanda
One of the Rhynchostylis gigantia's I picked up in my 1st trip to the greenhouse has bloomed.
The Rhy. gigantia 'Red' X 'Alba'
From the photos I had seen of them, I always thought they were a bigger flower.
What they lack in size they more than make up for in quantity.
it is very fragrant by late morning with what I would call a nice "citrus" fragrance.
But, by evening when its fragrance has begun to shut down, it smells a bit rancid.
Apparently the "good" portion of its fragrance shuts down first.
I can't wait for the other Rhy. gigantia to bloom.
I want to compare them.
EDIT:
Plus, my "Hurricane' Vanda is in bloom again.
It is a NoID that I picked up at one of the farmer's markets about a year ago.
It was in bloom then and this is the third time it has re-bloomed while up in this tree.
My name for it comes from, while preparing my place for Iselle's arrival, I noted that it had some large buds close to opening.
In the morning while assessing the damage, I saw that its flowers had opened.

Mini Nobile Hybrid
Got another re-bloomer:
I picked this little mini Nobile hybrid up about a year ago at our subdivision's monthly yard sale.
it was in bloom when I bought it.
It bloomed halfheartedly last fall and has now bloomed again with gusto.
It is really cute.
The canes are only about 8" long.
It is fragrant.
but, I've mounted it too high to get my nose into.
I won't make that mistake again!

Encyclia odoratissima
I have been eagerly waiting for this one to bloom.
Encyclia odoratissima, the name has fascinated me.
It is a small, about 1" dia., flower.
It's as homely as a mud fence when compared to the showier Dendrobium and Cattleya, species.
BUT, it has the most exquisite fragrance.
When I first stuck my nose into it was almost like a vision.
I'm inclined to think this orchid's fragrance has been used to model a perfume fragrance, because I pictured being "up close and personal" with a "very good friend" and catching a light whiff of this from behind her ear.
I LIKE THIS ORCHID'S FRAGRANCE!!!
I do have some more coming into bloom soon.
More pics when they do.
