Default Orchid Blooming page

Hello people

Kevin here. Its been a VERY long time since i ever posted anything up on orchid board. My time is limited now, so I have devised a method where all of my blooming orchids will be put onto one thread instead of separate ones. Expect this thread to be a long one.

Bulbo. masdevalliaceum. This one was stubborn and refused to bloom for four whole years. I convinced it to do so about two months earlier, abeit very reluctantly. It is on one of my previous threads. After that single flower withered away, one week later, four new buds popped out.

Brassavola nodosa. This has been one of my first orchids and has been with me for five years. It has continuously bloomed for me year after year.

Maxillaria tenuifolia. Unfortunately, this year, it only produced a single bloom, but its growth has greatly improved.

Orchid Blooming page-stuff-127-jpg

Phalaenopsis hybrid. This has been the oldest orchid I have ever owned (10 years) and was the one that inspired me to build my current collection.

Psychopsis Butterfly 'Yellow Canary' (as usual)

New flowers are incoming including Gongora fulva and Coryhopea Red Martian.

UPDATE:

Gongora fulva is now in full bloom! Many people say that this one has a spicy fragrance, but i say its more fetid than spicy. The scent is like Coryanthes macrantha mixed in with human musk. I have a sketch for this plant on a separate thread.

Restrepia contorta. This one was so unusual and I know my conditions for it are sub-par, but i couldn't resist getting it (along with a Restrepia brachypus). Like most pleurothallids that end up in my home, it dropped all of its buds but one blooming flower still stood for three remaining days. Any care information for this one will be gladly appreciated. The only thing I'm concerned about right now is humidity.

More incoming including Dendrobium Roongkamol Vejvarut 'Varutgland' and Stanhopea tigrina which I got from Snata Barbara Orchid Estate. It has six spikes, none of which have aborted (unlike the Coryhopea I mentioned earlier )!

Nice plants. The bulbo mas. is great! I used to have it but could not keep it watered enough, mine was a total water hog, it kept drying up and I eventually gave up on it.
