Aha!

I remember seeing them at a show in the spring.
How do you keep up with their "walking up" habit??

I have been able to cut off a part of it, and stick it into the media. I have read that the roots are inside those sheaths.
It used to look like this when I first got it in Feb 2013:

Then I got this container which has a back side, and I repotted it in May 2013, I cut off a portion of the climbing stem, and stuck it to the bark mix in lower right side.

Current photo this May 2014. Still a climber The backside of the container helps to support it. I am letting it go where it wants for now.

I think it is influenced too by its need for more light. Initially, I have the container facing another direction, so the backside of the container was blocking some light, so I guess the plant climbed more, and I hardly see any buds. Then I faced the container the other way, and in a few days I saw the buds..I guess good timing as it is getting much warmer too, it was ready to make the buds.

So I will try and observe if it will try to make new pbs much nearer to media level, rather than keep on climbing. If its climbing, I will just cut and stick it back to media level.

Default waiting for a 4th favorite-Wils Hilda Plumtree 'Purple Wings'

Well, this one has been taking its sweetest time to bloom..it was ahead of my Maxillaria tenuifolia to show its buds..and Max ten already open..and right now Wils is still pacing it....it has endured our heat wave, strong cool winds these past couple of days, and now weather is cool..so hopefully this would be the day,...another batch of warm low 90's shown this weekend..would hate for it to just blast!
