Stopped by Lowes today just as they were opening new boxes of orchids and I snagged these.

Thanks Bud, I will. I've got 4 Phals that are developing nice spikes as well. I will post them when they are ready too. I'm still fairly new to orchids so these are the first phals I have had spike myself instead of buying them in bloom so I'm pretty proud of them.

Me, too, Me, too. The lady in charge of the greenhouse at the Lowe's in Baytown told me they would be getting in a shipment this week. I went this morning but nothing yet so on the way home in the mid PM I decided to stop. Yea! They had gotten in a new shipment and I bought six plants. Nothing in bloom or spike but good looking plants. I had decided to try another Lowe's nearer Houston just in case they had a better selection. No such. I was almost sick when I saw what they do to their plants. The plastic bags were wet but it was evident that that is all they do when "watering". The plants were dead or dying from lack of water.

Wow, that's not good, the watering part I mean. I wonder if we can gather that Lowes get their new orchids in on Thursdays? Making a mental note.

Well, I would assume that the shipment's arrival might vary from store to store. The only reason I knew about this is that I asked and was only told "next week", but not the specific day. But if you talk with the person in charge of the GREENHOUSE dept. he/she might be able to give you a clue.
