The catts are beautiful. Is that an Onc. alliance (picture 5) too? That is just gorgeous. What's it called?

Thank you. Picture #5 and #6 are of a NOID Tolumnia. It is from the Onc. alliance. I have it mounted in the middle position on the ceramic log as shown in picture #6.

Very impressive! Is that a swamp stick you are using with the tolumnia?

Thanks. I think it is the same idea as a swamp stick. It is a ceramic (I think porcelain) log with an attached saucer base. The top is open and it was glazed and fired in such a way that the porcelain remains porous and seeps the water out. So I fill it with plain tap water and spritz or surface water with fertilizer water. Two of the 3 Tolumnia have attached themselves nicely to it and all three seem to be growing well. I might have too much moss under the bottom one so it isn't attaching. I have had them on there for about 10 months. I have another of these with a mini Catt which has bloomed once and now has two new growths and seems to be very happy on it.

You can't see it for the plants but the two lower ones are on short 'logs or branches' that stick out and make a nice surface to mount. They are hollow as well so fill with water. Several of my friends and I got together and ordered 2 each from a lady in Portland Oregon. She had a web site called EZOrchid Hydromounts or something like that. We were all thrilled with them and soon after trying out the first 2 I went online to order more. After years of making and selling them she had quit and her website was gone. I was so disappointed but glad I got the two I did. They look sort of like a real log.

Wow! sounds like you are getting the same weather we are only more wind. I don't remember all the Farenheit temps and how they compare but -22F is pretty cold. My temps are in Celcius and we were in the mid and low -30's with the -50 windchill. Mid -30's now and -45 still for a wind chill. At + and- 40 I think our temps equal out with Celcius and Farenheit.

Crazy and by Saturday we are supposed to be up around -4 Celcius!

Stay warm!
