thanks for looking. Actually it's planted in chunks of bark and leca. One of the few orchids that I am not growing in SH

That is interesting to know!
So adding some bark to leca will keep the whole mix a bit more moist retentive I guess?

How long have you grown your plant this way?
I would love to try my cattleya this way. I mean my cattleyas all grow well and all, but straight bark seems to stay too wet for them, and straight leca or hydroton seem to dry out too much for me.

Beautiful, I just love pink vandas! And the others in the background also look really healthy!

I've had this vanda for about 2 years now. Always grown it this way. I grow indoors so growing them the natural way is too time consuming. And after seeing someone bloom theirs in pots, I thought I'd give it a try. You may want to add some sponge rock too and some sphagnum too. This plant has bloomed every year for me

Pilot, I do not have any bellinas or violaceas at all. However, I do have a Phal cornu cervi in SH and it's doing okay. Actually I nearly killed it before, and it's now slowly coming back. I grow it under T5's and so far so good

I'm always in awe of indoor vanda growers. What lovely blooms and the plant looks healthy and happy. Well done.

I'm very impressed that you can grow and flower vandas indoors in Canada. Good job!

Thanks Tucker. At least 3 members of my orchid society grow Vandas successfully. Granted, they have greenhouses and grow in baskets without media. But I do okay in pots.
