Thumbs up I Finally got some flowers

been a long winter and looks like going to go one a little longer. Havent had as much trubble as some others of you but the troubles been all mine. My plants been living in between the garage and backyard. Leaving them outside in the cold is traumatic for all involved. The catts, paphs, and masdys all stay outside until it hits just below 40 and I feel a need to bring them in to avoid any light frosting on the leaves. I finally got some blooms ..

I got this at the orchid meeting in bud and its a big purty flower. Has a slight bruise on one of the petals but other than that a very nice flower. Smells very nice also.
Its a Cattleya lueddemanniana x LC Nancy is what the tag says and its from Penningtons orchids. I cant find an LC Nancy on the web and I dont have the O'wiz. Hard to show in the photo the light lavender dusting all over the flower. It gets a little darker each day.

guarianthe aurantiaca. A nice big plant with the smallest flowers of the genus. Been budding since way back since before I can remember. Thought they was blasted when they turned yellow. Next day they were orange and a few days later they opened up. Have one flower late for the party and 2 other canes with 8 more buds. Suppose to bloom in spring. Quite a large plant but grows well in hot or cold.

and this is Coconut Cream 'Cream Puff' x Freckles 'Adrienne' HCC/AOS. Nice small plant with a nice flower with freckles. Im leaning my paphs toward complexs and whites. Have lots of deperle x on the way with lots of hairy buds

Thank you and sorry again for the junk coming off tinypic. I shut that site down and I understand some are still finding trash posted under my name ,My apologies and prayers for the morons who stoled my acct. but with all your growing and Ill be back!!!

thanks you. I won the catt at the raffle table, it was the last plant of the night. I always win a plant.
I could do without some of the waiting. Im glad that for the most part they didnt all take to suiciding themselves up against the walls. I still got a few more rough spots of weather to get them thru. Its really tough growing these things out in the mercy of the crazy south texas weather with no cover. All Ive been reading assures me that most of these plants I have will take down into the low 30's as long as its not freezing. The man from Miranda orchids tells us he grows his catts down into these low temps with no ill effects. What will ill affect them is if they are left wet and the temp drops to the 30's. I feel a lot better about them after harboring them in the garage for over a month. I think it was needless now but I was being safe and not sorry.

I have much more on the way for you all to see and yes its good to have some flowers in my house

There you are! Missed seeing you here!

Lovely blooms! Been sparse bloomwise for a while for me too, getting a few starting to bloom now.

I grow a number of orchids down to low 30s at night, but I do have sheltered areas. Yes, being wet and cold isn't good! (Except for Cyms, who don't care!)

Good to see you back!

Beautiful blooms! I was bloomless for a long time too. Now it feels like everything is blooming at once.
