Cattlianthe syn. Laeliocattleya Tricky Red is a cross between Trick or Treat x Mini Purple. It was registered for Armacost in 1983. In its progeny we find C. walkeriana 25%, Laelia pumila 25%, Guarianthe (Cattleya) aurantiaca 12,5%, and some rupiculous Laelias: L. cinnabarina 18,75%, L. crispata 12,5%, L. harpophylla 6,25%.
Upon opening flowers display orage-red colours. In mature flowers pink-violett colours are dominant.
I can only assume that the mixture of anthocyanins, anthoxanthins and carotenoids varies. Some pigments are produced, some are reduced or fading.

That is a remarkable color change and also a very beautiful flower. I have a few different plants that change from red/orange to yellow but I have never seen one like yours.
