Wow, so many beautiful blooms. That Oncidium looks very happy with its wealth of blooms.

Thank you all. I love the Oncidium too. It is a first flowering for me and it smells lovely.
A friend who only has space for minis gave it to me when it outgrew her.

It looks to me like there's some Zygopetalum and Oncidium in there. Since you were all so helpful in naming the Tahitian Dancer I was wondering if you could work your magic and help name this one too?
Thank you.
Beautiful plants Rachel! I think the one labelled Cambria is an Odontoglossum cross, possibly an intergeneric like an Odontocidium. Something with Odontoglossum bictoniensis (syn. Rhynchostele bictoniensis) in the background maybe.

Thank you, Ryan and Natalie, and Happy New Year.

The colours do look right for Odontoglossum bictoniensis, Natalie.

Colmanara Masai Red (or Oncostele Masai Red). And it does have Rhynchostele bictoniensis as a parent. Some of the pictures of this have a lot of red on the lip but apparently it's variable. A member of the board posted a pic in this thread (the thread is about a different orchid):

NOID Oncidium

It's spelled Massai in the thread above but it's registered in the RHS orchid register as Masai Red.

Gosh thanks, Natalie, for going to all that trouble. That does seem to be the right one and I'm changing the name on my plant database to Massai Red now. Thank you.

It wasn't any trouble at all. I happened upon it in a blog I was looking at. I also think I spotted the exact same one in homebase the other day!
