Lovely blooms! I especially like the pink-orange vanda. What is that growing/drooping down in the vanda basket? It looks like roots and I've seen it before somewhere at a show...

My thanks to everyone for the nice comments.
Nastia...That is a type of tillandsia, commonly known as Spanish Moss. It grows wild and rampant in Florida, and it favors the limbs of oak trees. I was in need of something to boost and briefly retain more moisture on my bare root specimens, so I harvested a few handfulls from a woodsy vacant lot. It looked healthy, but before draping it on my plants it was treated with multiple treatments of an insecticide/funguscide. The moss has adapted well to the shadehouse and I give it frequent haircuts to keep it under control.

Gorgeous blooms! I really like the idea of using Spanish Moss to drape the bare root plants. It gives it a very natural look.

That is neat! Great idea to naturally boost humidity and moisture retention. It might be too dry here in northern California households for this type of tillandsia but if I ever get a greenhouse going, it might be great to use it in same manner as you do. Thanks for sharing your secrets
