Jalapa "angel" seedling in bloom for the first time and now too bad so far ...tomorrow I will post a fully opened picture of it ....


not bad for a first bloom 9 buds total 5 on one spike 4 on the other

Good Growing!! 9 blooms on a first bloomer!! Imagine what it will be like when mature!!
Looks like it should be a nice deep dark red, Velvety too!

Nice color. I believe the correct name is C. Jalapa Angel. (no quotes)

....hmmm dont think so since it is Lc. Jalapa 'Bill Teel' x Slc. Bright Angel 'Red Gold' .....and thats all that is on the tag from the grower who is also the guy who crossed it.

came from Whipporwill orchids Tom and Barbara Larkin and A friend of mine emailed him to get the name since it did not have the info as to the actual registered name on the tag and he responded that it is registered as Jalapa 'Angel' but the Lc.x Slc. would not make a C. anything. I am assuming Lc. x Slc. = Slc. just as a Slc. x Lc. = Slc. right?

Fabulous color!!! Amazing that its a first flowering, its going to be outstanding when its specimen size!! Im so jealous!! Good job!
