My First Rebloom! Female
Default My First Rebloom!

I got my first orchid about a year ago. Since then, I've had 2-3 orchids die. After they died, I decided to take a more laid back approach and just left them alone until they needed to be watered. Now it's a year later, the surviving orchids have rewarded me with new leaves and fresh roots. One of them even decided to give me a bloom!! This is my very first rebloom!! YAY!

These photos were taken last night!

Congratulations! It's lovely. Way to grow. It's a miltoniopsis for sure but does it have a name?

It was a noid that my sister gave me for Christmas. The original blooms were magenta. Actually, the original blooms are my avatar! I'm guessing it's white from less light.

That's unreal! I can't imagine what would cause that drastic of a colour change. are you sure there weren't two plants together in the pot?

Congrats!
Miltoniopsis are not exactly the easiest to grow and bloom, and you made it!
I know how you're feeling, it's been less than a year since my first rebloom.
In my case, a Miltoniopsis was the first orchid I killed...

To me that's too drastic a change for a flower colour. I think you do have two plants in there. Why the wire around it?

I agree, I think two different plants are in there. Good growing just the same tho.

I agree, you have at least 2 plants, which MEANS you still have the magenta blooms to look forward to! Congrats on your first at-home bloom. It's such a good feeling.
