Default Early Summer Blooms

Some of my chids are blooming a little ahead of schedule for early Summer. Enjoy!

1. Myrmetonia Firefly
2. Bc. Nodata 'Maili'
3. Prosthechea cochleata

Wow, beautiful! I am totally unfamiliar with that first orchid. Never even heard of it but I sure like it. Your shade house is excellent.

They are all lovely but I especially love the Myrmetonia Firefly! I too have never heard of it. Anyone know where to find one?

Nice group, everyone looks happy. The spike on the first one looks like it has some schomburgkia in it, new to me also, I like. Good Growing!

I think it does have schomburgkia in it.

Just beautiful, June! I love them all... but the Bc. Nodata 'Maili' is irresistible! I think I might have to look for that.

Thanks for all the nice comments.

The Myrmetonia used to be classified as a Schombonia, and for all I know it might have been reclassified again. It's a cross of Schom. thomsoniana and Bro. sanguinea. The plant in the photo has 12 spikes. I have a 2nd smaller division that has 6 spikes of unopened buds.

The Nodata 'Maili' was a small baggy plant that I purchased from Walmart about 6 years ago. It's always grown well but early on the flowers either aborted or they didn't open well and had bad form. Those issues mysteriously vanished last year.
