Default eye candy!

as promised, here is some eye candy of my blooms. almost all buds are open. i even have some SCENTED noid phals! and they werent scented last summer

phal. noid- this one smells like a mix of sedirea japonica with a tipple of neofinetia falcata!

phal noid- this one smells like gardenia! but only around noon, and some days its missing a scent altogether. sadly, today ( the date of the OS meeting ) it didnt smell!

another noid phal!- this one is unscented, with blooms that are 4 1/2" i mounted it last june

phal equestris- no smell- got this one last september from sure, i won it in her article contest! it keeps about 2 blooms open at a time. so far, it has had 8 blooms come and go. its holding 2 ATM, and has buds waiting their turn

sedirea japonica- smells like gastro japonica, lol! like citrussy, a hint of n. falcata. inexplicable! it is FAB! got this one at the SEPOS (longwood) show in bud

masdevallia angel tang- non scented- im so proud of this one! i got it in buds at the SEPOS show and that bud bloomed. since then, it grew a lead and this bloom (2 blooms total). so i take at least partial credit for the 2nd flower. its almost fully open

blurry-

paph. fairrieanum 'green giant' X paph hsinying citron '1309'- un-smelly-got this one in bud from the SEPOS show as well. it is a multiflora that currently has 2 blooms.

me with mega-phal

here is one artistic shot i got the other night. im making a thread with some of my photography on it, and oyu can see more from this shoot there-

Very nice eye candy! I really like the shape of the first one. I don't have any phals that shape. Must get one!

Your mega-phal is HUGE! How big across are the flowers? I've never seen one that big!

Thanks everyone! This is the first time I've replied any of the plants in the pics. As I got most last summer.

Mega phal is just that, mega! The wood is about 20x12" it was nice getting lots of compliments at the OS meeting today. But I didn't get a ribbon, because I was beat out by a big sogo yukidan! That one was big! 15 flowers all five inches and white! Someday mine will look like that.

Me too! That's what sold me on it! I bought It cheap last summer for $6 at the grocer because it only had one bloom left. This one is scented too, it's awesome!

Thanks! Although I didn't think it's as big as you think it is. In the picture with me holding it, the blooms are a good 6-8" away from my face, it's all perspective. Each bloom is about 4 1/2-5" and there are 7 blooms. A double spike would be impressive!!
