Default Late April Blooms

The weather has finally stabilized and the chids are responding with growth, spikes, buds and blooms.

These are my most recent bloomers. Enjoy!

Thank you. That's actually a noid Ascoscenda and it's gotten rather large over the years. Right now it has 3 keikis. One of the keikis is mature and it's in spike too. OB members have suggested that it might be a Dong Tarn 'Robert'. It needs to be topped soon, but I'm waiting till the other keikis develop roots. The mother plant is top heavy so I fashioned a temporary panty hose sling to support her against high winds.

My shadehouse dimensions are 8' x 16' x 9'H and it has a slatted roof with no shade cloth.

That Ascoscenda is a beauty. With or without a name. Your growing area is wonderful. Nice job.

Thanks guys. The pinkish one is a Den. aphyllum and the color in the photo is a bit deceptive. It's more of a pale lavender. The blooms on this one are so transparent and delicate and they don't last long.

I'm still working on a possible I.D. for the encyclia. It looks like a cordigera hybrid, possibly crossed with an alata.

Oh good grief, Junebug has got herself another noid. Here a noid, there a noid, everywhere a noid, noid.

Wow they're gorgeous. Especially the Vanda's and Asco's. They are my favourite.
