I received the Psychopsis as a Mother's Day gift from my daughter last year. She bought it as a noid from a roadside vendor. I don't have a good track record with growing Psychopsis, but this one has been happy since day one. She's bloomed about every 5 to 6 weeks ever since I got her and she grew another full sized leaf. She has another nubbin now, but it's too early to tell if it's a spike or new growth.
I have another Psychopsis, a Mendenhal Hildos, that I've had for almost 3 years. It was delivered in spike, but also in poor health. The original spike bloomed once and then perished. The poor plant dried up and was so near death that at one time I came close to canning it, but changed my mine after noticing some tiny hidden growths. It's been repotted twice, once in plastic, once in terracotta, and is currently mounted and struggling to stay alive. It's managed to grow three stunted leaves but it hardly has any root system. When potted it stayed too moist and as a mount it stays too dry. I'm thinking about potting it in a ventilated basket like this one.
The psychopsis in the photo reminds me of my hildos but the leaf pattern is different. My hildos has a darker pattern that is much more defined and this one has a faint pattern, mostly along the edges of the leaves.

Is the last photo a cycnoches or cycnoches hybrid? I really like the yellow colour.
