thankyou!

the equestrus is about 8 inches under 4 t12s.

what tells you the masdie needs more water or humidity? im trying to learn the signs, so i can react faster to what they are telling us. the humidifier is on when the lights are on for the most part, and the masdie is on a humidity tray. i water before it dries out. it doesnt stay soggy, but it never really goes dry

The crinkled new leaf, sort of like accordian shaped. Some species are more sensitive to lack of humidity etc. It still happens to one of my hybrids even with tons of humidifiers etc... But I do notice that when I let its sphagnum gets extra crispy on a regular basis it tends to get this accordian shaped new growths more frequently. Good luck, don't rot your plant, better like this than rotted.

Huh. With the new growths I have had so far, they start like that and then "bust" out of the outer sheath that holds them crinkled and asthma mature they straighten. I thought that's how some mashies grew
