New Blooms
Well I finally got around to photographing the latest result of my attempts at growing orchids, and a couple I bought.
The Masdevallia Machu Pichu I brought to bloom myself
The Otaara and Phrag I bought at our society's recent sale and I tried out my brand new Canon T2i on them.
Photography and orchids- aah, I'm in heaven- even if my credit card is in the doldrums.

They are all lovely! I am just in the process of ordering a Masdevallia Machu Pichu. Do you like the plant, how big is it and do you have any tips on bringing it to bloom?? Thanks in advance for some tips!

The flower is about 2" with the spurs. It is somewhat larger than the average Masdie.
I have them on a lower shelf, with T5 lights, and an ultrasonic humidifier on them most of the time (I sometimes forget to fill it). I have 4 Masdies and one other is in bloom and one is in spike. The Machu Pichu is my favorite, not least because I have been there, and my husband is in Peru right now.
