Default Blooming for me now

Oncidium Twinkle 'Fragrance Fantasy'
purchased at Trader Joe's last winter.
I lost half of this already small plant last year to some funky rot - so I was completely surprised to find spikes on it a couple months ago! What a trooper!

Cymbidium Sussex Court 'Not Peace'
purchased from SFOS member at Pacific Orchid Expo last year. Been in bloom since early Feb. Blooms are still very fresh

Ascda. Su Fun Beauty 'Orange Belle' .
purchased from Lowes Orchids - I think - last summer.
second bloom since Christmas! I love this plant! lol

and a group shot cos I get a kick out of the size differences

They're all beautiful. I love the "group" photo too!

Pretty cool.

Onc Twinkle 'Fragrance Fantasy' are pretty tough, they also grow very fast.

It's so interesting to see a Vandaceous plant being dwarfed by a Cymbidium in size comparison. I get a chuckle out of it.

Great growing! I love your Twinkle- mine is slightly more yellow in the center. How strongly scented is yours?

By "vandaceous", do you mean it is related to Vandas? What's typical about them that help you pick them out?

hehe - yes, I like Oncidiums partly because they do bounce back well usually, and not as fussy as some other orchids

glad you enjoyed the pic! I have no where to grow a big boy vanda, but very much enjoy my 'junior' one - and actually- it's the largest vandaceous orchid I have and dwarfs my others pretty much.

Well - when I got it last winter, it had a lot more blooms, and was strong enough that I could be a few feet away and catch the fragrance. This time, probably because of so few blooms, I do need to have my face quite near it.

Yes, by Vandaceous, I mean they're in the Vanda Alliance.

Typically plants belonging in this group are huge!

Some can get to be as tall as a house (over the course of many, many years - possibly decades).

Sure, there are miniature orchids from the Vanda Alliance, but they're not the first things that people think about.
