Default Sophronitis Arizona and Mormodia Jumbo Ruby

This Sophronitis Arizona (coccinea x brevipedunculata) might not be the best Arizona ever, however I am very VERY happy with it: this is the first Sophronitis (different than cernua) with which I have any success!! Sophronitis coccinea, brevipedunculata and rosea don't seem to like my growing conditions (probably too warm for them), but this hybrids is stronger than both parents and more temp tolerant than both too. The flower is 5 cm (2 inches) wide.

The two Mormodia Jumbo Ruby are from exactly the same pod...

all 3 plants are first time bloomers!

The Sophro is beautiful !!! What a great shape and colors

I am not a big fan of Mormodia, but it is interesting to have so much variations in flower colors from the same pod !

Love those shots! I have a weakness for those Sophronitis species and hybrids.
