Default Blooming on Schedule and I'm Relieved

Two of my Cattleyas are blooming and I'm so relieved. Due to freezing temperatures they recently endured a 2 week stay in extremely underlit conditions.

The largest Cattleya in my collection is a Noid. I call her 'Big Momma' and she has 17 viable sheaths/buds this year. Her first blooms just opened and haven't yet developed their full color. The jury is still out on her other 1/2 dozen empty sheaths. It's my belief that 'Big Momma' has some George King 'Serendipity' in her background.

I lost the tag on my other blooming Catt. I believe she was labeled as Gold Digger something??? My bad.

Thanks, Sheridan. I bought the 15" hanging pot on clearance at Sam's Club over a year ago. It's so hard to find appropriate/attractive pots for large orchids and I snatched it up without hesitation. It's well ventilated but rather deep, so I filled the bottom half with styro. packing.

Thanks. An Lc. Gold Digger 'Fuch's Mandarin" is what I'm thinking. How would one pronounce Fuch's??? That's what I'd really like to know. I'm hoping the "c" is silent.

I had a friend in school whose last name was Fuchs- pronounced the "u" like "you". Worked for her, in junior high school no less.

OMG. Imagine her teacher calling roll on the first day of school...or a Nurse calling out her name as next in line to see the Doc. Oh, the embarassment of having a name like that.
