A few in bloom 1-25
Some of what’s in bloom right now. From left to right:
• Bpl. Golden Spice ‘Hot Peppers’ (acq. From local garden center . . . years ago)
• Calanthe Rosea, first spike, then bloom (acq. From Oak Hill)
• Dtps. Minho Princess ‘S. J.’ (acq. From Clown Alley)
• Masd. Red Baron (acq. From J & L) A strange color for a Masdie (at least in my experience). I took many shots, and finally had to tinker with one of the photos to get it right, but I held the actual bloom up against my monitor, and this is the color.
• Sarcoglottis speciosa, first plant, then spike section, then bloom detail (acq. From Hoosier - R.I.P.) Had this for five years and this is the first bloom.

Very nice group you've got. I really like the color of the speciosa.

All gorgeous!
I have a NoID which might be Minho Princess. It looks very like yours. I got it from a supermarket but the grower has Minho Pricess on their website.
Does yours seems to branch a lot on it's spikes? Pictures I've seen of it on the web do and so does mine. Mine just dropped it's last flower last night.

Woo, that Bpl. is gorgeous! What does Bpl. stand for? Guess I have to learn something new here!
The Minho Princess is a classic one, I love it!
too funny. I just was comparing the flower from Minho Princess with one of mine that is currently blooming. Knowing that Rosie and I are often able to get the same plants in supermarkets/garden stores, again we might own the same plant. Rosie, I bought mine last year end of July without pot and torn leafs, the spike was just out of bloom. (1 euro plant LOL). I remember the spike was branched but now it's flowering only with 5 buds on a single spike that didn't branch (however it wanted to branch but didn't at the end). Can't wait to see it flower next year.
Mine matches very well with the Minho Princess, shape, color, texture...
Thanks for showing us these lovely flowers. Brightens up a dark winter day!

Rosie,
Mine is just a small plant, first bloom. It had only 1 spike about 10 inches long and 3 blooms. I'm hoping for more next year, and that it starts to branch.

Nicole,
Bpl. = Brassoepilaelia
Brassavola x Epidendrum x Laelia

A very nice selection. I like them all. Could you please tell me if the Masdie is a warm grower. I have been wanting to try one and yours sure is a looker.
