I'm sure no one would ever expect that I'm a sucker for red flowers and that includes BLC Cherry Suisse. The two blooming here have the same pollen parent (so far as I can determine) of BLC Oconee 'Mendenhall'. As far as I know, the earlier clones of Blc Cherry Suisse (including 'Kauai') were all offspring of C Chocolate Drop 'Kodama'. The other Cherry Suisse pictured here still utilized Oconee 'Mendenhall' as pollen parent, but have C Chocolate Drop 'Volcano Queen' as the pod parent. Quite a difference!

I've been wanting a Cherry Suisse. I noticed that Fenders Flora has Cherry Suisse with the Chocolate Drop Volcano Queen parent. Having seen your bloom, I think I will go ahead and order one.

Thanks for sharing the great pics.
