two orchids:

Haraella retrocalla is a non stop bloomer

Cirrhopetalum lepidum started blooming 8 weeks ago and has not stopped since then. Unfortunatelly, the flowers do notlast more than few days. Howeevr, thi splant has produced already over 20 spikes this year

and two carnivores (Bonus ):

Wow, I love that first one, it reminds me of the back end of a big bumble bee

The Cirrhopetalum is a real beauty as well.

How do the carnivors catch insects, I'm not familiar with these types of carnivor?

Great blooms! Love the haraella as always, it's one of my favorites! But your blooms remind me of what i'm missing out on, the big fat bud on mine blasted and fell off today.

The mechanisms is fairly interesting, I loved studying these plants in school. Pinguicula have mucilage on the leaves to attract insects looking for moisture. Once the insect lands it triggers the mucilage glands below it to produce more, trapping the insect. Then the digestive glands secrete enzymes that then disgest the insect. Some species have leaves which curl over the insect. This is called semi-active trapping and other carnivores trap differently. Pitcher plants/Nepenthes are passive trappers, and venus fly traps are active traps.

Beautiful Ramon. You made some great pictures from your Haraella!
