What species do you have blooming? Update 6/17/09
Hey everyone....I thought it would be fun for us all to post a few pics of our species that are currently blooming.
This can be an ongoing thread that we can post to from time to time and share our non-hybridized beauties.
Today I noticed I had quite a few, and took photos of 9 of them. On several, I took pics of both the plant and a close-up, so I'll have to post in two sections.
Here are 4 of my Encyclias: - Pics 1 & 2: E. alata ~ a young plant just starting to produce a few small spikes.
- Pics 3 & 4: E. beliziensis ~ this guy has been in my collection for 2 1/2 years now, and seems to grow double the number of spikes each season. The tallest this year is about 3 1/2 feet.
- Pics 5 & 6: E. tampensis var. alba 'Mendenhall' AM/AOS ~ a fabulous clone, and one of my favorite; I gave it more light this year, and the petals seem more yellow than in past years.
- Pics 7 & 8: E. tampensis (standard colorform) ~ this is the first blooming on this one in two years; it's not very prolific, but I still love this Florida native.

WOOOOOWWW
Thank you for sharing!
Everything so abundant and healthy, all the hard work you put into what you do reflects
I love the encyclia tampensis alba- that thing will get too big david, might need a little more room to grow --I have space if you know
That digbyana is amazing.
I hope one day to grow as well as you

David your plants are really beautiful. Do you grow in a controlled enviroment or out doors? I'm just curious to know if I might one day have plants as nice as yours if I grow them outside.
WhiteRabbit that is a really great plant. I love the flowers on it!

You have some nice things in bloom David! I like all the Encyclias, there's something about the shape of the blooms that I like very much. Love the digbyana, I've heard that the fragrance is really great.
Great plant Suzie, there are alot of blooms on yours! I've been wanting this orchid, but the 'pygmy' type of it to save some space.
I don't have any blooming species yet. Some are just out of bloom, and other are in spike/bud. Will post pics when they finally bloom!
