hmmm, either it's smaller than looks in the photo, or I was imagining it much smaller than that! How big is it? Either way, I still want one! Nice close up pics, I so love the wacky blooms!

It's probably smaller than it looks in photo with no point of reference for size -
I love the wacky blooms too!

B. nodosa
A popular species that a lot of you probably have blooming right now. It was a gift of a small division that was given to me about three years ago and it seems exceptionally vigorous. It has no variety name.

WhiteRabbit that is a really great plant. I love the flowers on it!

Hey Odessa Orchid,
Thanks for your comments!
My plants are basically grown outdoors...around the inside of my pool enclosure, on the patio and in my shade house. The shade house does have a solid roof (polycarbonate material), so I can control water in the wet season. It also has roll down walls for the occasional cold snap we get in the winter (temps below 50 degrees F).

Right now the only species I have that's getting ready to bloom is Rync. coelestis. I can't wait. This will be the first blooming for this plant.

David, your Encyclia collection is enchanting, but the digbyana is stunning. It should be awarded, even the plant is gorgeous. I have never seen it look anything like it with a blooming plant. How long do the blooms last?
White Rabit, you have a very attractive plant and the flowers are very well formed. Mine did get twice as tall as the original plant and grew and bloomed well in water culture and S/H without starve and chill.
Jerry, your nodosa flowers are beautiful.
