Happy Mother's Day to Everyone

I helped my daughters pick out my Mother's Day gifts today! We went to Coconut Orchids near Weston, Florida and I picked out 2 nice ones. Both plants are growing in coconut husks .

The first one is Blc Ports of Paradise 'Yun Pou'. It is really big and smells nice (lemony). Sadly I broke one of the petals.

Second is Pot Lydee Williamson 'Serenas Choice' which has 2 large buds. No idea what it will look like!

Third one I bought for myself. Psychopsis papilio var alba 'Carmela'. I was told it was about 2 years from blooming, but I see a little nubbin on the back . Maybe it is a spike! What do you think?

Nice Mothers' Day! Those are beautiful plants. Daughters are the best - and I say this as a SON! (By the way, I think the "nubbin" is a new growth.)

I sent my mother a really pretty arrangement of lillies and orchids. She loves it. Of course, at 83 I think she'll love anything...

I think the nub on the back of the psychopsis is a new lead. Great plants, though.

Nice Mothers Day orchids!!
My mom is starting to really get an interest in orchids, and has been wanting a miltonopsis, so that's what I'm going to get her! But not today, mothers day in france is not until June 7th.

Nice one! I wish I got orchids for mothers day but for some reason being a guy counts me out! Go figure......

Anyway I gave my wife a DVD, Rachmaninov CD, 10 orange roses and took her to dinner at an exclusive restaurant. I think she did ok. But I still want to know what I get out of it all.

;-)

Hi Everyone,
Happy Mothers Day to all the Moms out there.
I'm having a great mothers day. My kids all got me cute little trinkets at the school mothers day sale and my husband got me my first terrarium. It's an Exo-Terra. I have absolutly no idea how to set it up, or what kind of light to put in it.

Happy Mother's Day Mommies!

I got my Mom a super nice card and a funny book written by a gardener about his quest to merge his two gardens... one being his perfect garden in his head and dreams... the other being the one is his back yard

I received two fine cards, one from hand made (the best kind) from my daughter, and a very sweet one from hubby. Hubs added $100 bill in my card for orchids Good man!
