Orchid "hunting" in Ecuador
Hi all:
Just got back from a weeks worth of hiking in the highlands ( mostly) of Ecuador-the new worlds most orchid-rich country. It was wonderfull ,overwhelming and exhillirating.
Took some pictures; I thought I'd post a few.
Enjoy!
P.s. The orange tubular flower is Sobralia crocea, the brown and gold Oncidium is O.serrulatum.
The rest I need more time to identify.

I know; isn't it cool? I saw it earlier in the trail without flowers and I thought it was one of those Lepanthes sps. with pendent stems and tubular flowers (L.caprilingus [?] or similar),but when I saw it in bloom,I realized it is not a Lepanthes. It is a Pleurothallid though.
I'll look it up in good time.

Yay you found a Lepanthes! I did get to see a few of these (or species just like them) when I was in Ecuador...but mostly not in the wild. These are really lovely! Do you know the species name of the very last one? (or genus... I'm not very good with recognizing even that yet, except Lepanthes)
