Gloria, Great growing!! And well done for having the patience needed with that appletonianum! I have a var. hainanense which I got as a seedling that flowered for me for the first time last year, and it is also in bud now... should be opening soon...

Will you post another photo when the colour comes up on your's?

I understand you're excitement completely Roly, Such gorgeous little plants with beautiful scents.
I know alteast 1 of the parents to twinkle can be stubborn

Actually Cam, they smell nothing alike. The twinkle I had was scented as vanilla with an undertone of vomit

Shannen, I don't think the overall color has deepened much at all, though the pouch has gotten slightly darker in color - nothing to measureable.
I didn't care for the first photo. But regardless I do like the color and flower shape and happy to see it finally in bloom.
