I really would miss my Peggy Ruth if anything were to happen to her. Mine has been in steady spike/bloom for close to 2 years - non stop. It has such a wonderful fragrance and really great blossoms. Nice photo you have there.

Thanks Ross! Mine smells like raid
Its much more purple then I thought it would be. I think its ones of those orchids to have to see with you're own eyes.

Mine smells like really sweet flowers (I've never been known for being able to identify a fragrance, except B.O. and Dendrobium oligophyllum.) Mine is fragrant enough to smell up the whole end of the house where it grows. Guess it must be "luck of the draw" because I have so many supposedly fragrant orchids that either don't smell at all, or smell like some sort of chemicals. Maybe it's just me? I don't think RAID smells very nice. BTW, your flower looks typical to me - nice and purple, just as Peggy Ruth likes it.

Ross, There is another clone of peggy ruth - 'pinkgirl' I wonder if it would be a nicer scent
The raid itsn't real strong in scent, you have to get pretty close up the the blooms to whiff it. Though I must admit to being disappointed to the bitter scent. O'well!

Never heard of it. But who knows. Sorry yours isn't more pleasant. Just went and smelled mine again - really nice.

I love the phal, the color and small spots are wonderful! I also have a Peggy Ruth Carpenter, but it has no fragrance what so ever. i'll be posting pics of it soon!

These are both beautiful, Gloria! I can sympathise with the RAID smell, too, as I have a milt. hybrid that smells just like that! Fortunately, you have to get your nose right into it to pick up the 'fragrance' - but still it came as a shock...
