Default Some Color

I keep taking a few pictures every day with my new camera. These are the latest.

1. Lc. Longriver Compton 'Golden Star' FCC/AOS
2. C. Old Whitney AM/AOS x C. Swan Lake AM/AOS (This
one sure deserves a name)
3. Den. Ekapol 'Big Pandy' (I broke this spike when watering
yesterday. Looks like the vase was made for it.)
4. Lc. Amethyst Star (Lc. Mini Purple x Soph. longipes)
(A first bloom seedling)
5. V. Alicia Ono x V. Hilo Bay (A lot of V. Sanderiana here)

Hi Ross and Ed,
My camera is a Nikon D40. I was considering a D70 but the salesman advised that, for my purposes, the D40 would be more suitable. I know nothing about photography. I never got any further than a Kodak Instamatic or a disposable type.
