I swear I added them! I didn't mention the V. Tharab Blue though because it is finished blooming now. I'm not going to get in trouble am I? I hope I don't get grounded or anything....

Thanks! That is my first ever vanda! $40 too! OUCH! Well worth it though (especially since the b/f paid ) The flowers are literally wider than my palm too. Unfortunately, they are slightly short lived. With pics, we can enjoy them year round though! Oh, plus it blooms 2-3 times per year!

#2...The Bulb. Doris Dukes? That is kind of a monster plant! I love it though!!!

I have this habit of never dividing plants because I don't see the point in having two, unless of course, I give away a division. Until recently I haven't really had anyone to share with, so this lucky guy has remained intact since I got him in 2005. (Weird side comment, I don't know why I think Bulbos are guys and vandas are girls...?) Anyhow, I will get a pic to post today or this weekend to show the whole thing unless I can dig one up on my flash drive today. It is in a plastic pot that is pretty shallow, kind of bowl shaped with a mix or bark, charcoal, perlite and spag. Seems pretty happy too. It is now nearly covering the whole pot too after repotting back in spring/early summer. Fast grower. I believe the pot is either 10 or 12 inches across. The number of growths on it is lost on me now! It at least doubles in size every year. The flowers are about 3/4 to 1 inch acress and about 4 inches long if you count the tails (or whatever they are called...anyone want to tell me?). Last year it gave me 17 spikes. This year, I am not sure of the number. Initially when i got it, it was in a 2 inch pot with 3 flowers total. I think I am a bit proud of this guys success!!! Thanks for asking!

BTW, if that was not the one you meant, please let me know!

Just a word of caution tho...lock your doors! jkelee is on her way over to your house and I think she's up to something!

Enjoy and great growing to you!
IT's too late! I got home and all my 'chids were gone. Thanks Jackie! Just kidding! BTW, locking my doors would do no good as everyone lives outside!

Thanks for the compliments though! I appreciate all of them.

I love the last vanda. What a beautiful color.

Thanks Marilyn! I am glad I could give you something to look forward to. That bulbo is really something special in my eyes. It multiplies so quick and the flowers are really cool. The lip actually rocks back and forth if you blow on it, or in my case, bump the plant! You will be happy with it.

Thanks on the vanda too. That was my first one ever. It took me awhile to get the hang of it and to make it bloom. It would have had two spikes too, but some thrips got the other spike. Maybe next year?
