[QUOTE=dgenovese1;158253] I'm actually not to familiar with the Cochleanthes genre. What are the basic requirements for them? Warm, intermediate or cool temps; water/humidity...that kind of stuff QUOTE]
David,
They are in the Chondroryncha group, with Pescatorea, Huntleya, etc. Each growth is kind of flat, fan-shaped. Just to complicate your search, if you look for one, the Cochleanthes has recently been reclassifies as Warscewcziella (I wish they would STOP all this re-naming). If you look for one, you should probably try under both names.
I grow mine in warm-intermediate temps (they are identified as intermediate growers). Moderate water, medium to low light (mine gets about the same as my Phal's.). Humidity in my greenhouse ranges 65-90 rh. They seem pretty hardy, mine have never been bothered by pests or diseases.
I got mine from Hoosier Orchids, so you are out of luck there. Santa Barbara currently has a couple of the genus, but not the amazonica. Oak Hill used to carry them, but I didn't find them on their website just now. Another place that has them, and a couple of other species as well is Orquideas Del Valle:

But they are in Columbia (South America, not South Carolina), and I'm not sure how easy it would be to get just one or two plants from them. You might try them, Andrea and Juan Carlos are very nice people and try to oblige if they can. Their website has a lot of interesting species, and is definitely worth a look in any case.
If you try to get one, I wish you luck. they are nice plants and bloom intermittently throughout the year. Mine is probably in bloom at least 60% of the time.
