Just wanted to show everyone an orchid that you normally don`t see that we had awarded this year on March 1st at the Akron, Ohio show. This plant took an C.H.M. award and scored 80 points. It was named after my wifes grandma who cared for her as a child.

Great plant in a rarely cultivated genus. There is actually a considerable literature on this genus in Australia - pollination studies that date back to the 1930's. Your species is a bit unusual in the genus for its predominately yellow flowers. Most species have mostly brownish purple flowers.

I really like it, the blooms are so unique! It's nice to have it named after someone in your family. It makes the orchid all the more special
