Ah, Tindo you finally made it there ..
The Anthuriums are plentiful there and I return often to see what orchids are in bloom ..
They change the greenhouse displays seasonally.
Glad you finally got to see it .. I love it up there .. it's so peaceful!

Hi, I did go there a year ago, but got there after 4 when the green house and Camelia house was closed, so I didn't really get to see anything. But you are right, it is really peacefull there.

Great photos, Tindo. That cactus is a Mammillaria. I used to have one and never ID'd the species. Died from red spider. Great shot.

Dorothy, it looks like the garden is quite a ride from the city....I guess you'd have to have a car or afford one heck of a cab ride..... Isn't there a botanical garden closer into the city....I visit my daughter (83rd and 2nd) from time to time and would like to visit a GH/garden....thoughts?????

Hi;
Planting fields is one of my favorite places to spend an afternoon.
The semi-closed yellow paph. in the picture is (the rare)Paph.druryi .
Did you see the native orchids in the woodland garden?
There are scores of Cyp.aucale,and (deeper in the woods)Goodyera pubescens.
Its a great place.
Take care
Spiro

Closer to the city I would say to you to go visit the NYBotanical Gardens. I've also heard good things about the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens.
There is also Greenbrook Sanctuary at the Palisades in NJ
But for that one you have to be a member to visit, or go with a member, or on visitors day.
Greenbrook Sanctuary (Palisades Interstate Park - NJ Section)
