Default It's hard to pass up an Orchid in boom!

So I have had several new Orchids magically appear in my house lately Some are in bloom... others are not. But it was a good excuse as any to get up some

Here's the breakdown:
1. A seedling from Lowes - Dtps. Brother Love Goofy x Dtps. Donsan Redfire
2. Another Lowes seedling - Phal. Hsinying Arcwind x Hsinying Musa
3. Yet another Lowes seeling - Slc. Hsin Buu Lady 'Red Beauty'
4. Onc. Margaret Holm 'Alpine' Found this one at Lowes as well. It was done booming so I asked if the have any "specials" on out of bloom orchids and was told "Yes, $5.00" And then she marked it down for me
5. Den. Earsakul (from Lowes)
6. Den. Earsakul (from Home Depot)
7-9. Phals from local nursery. They order them in from Hawaii I believe. Lady who handles their orchids is on vacation this week.

Wow, what a haul!!!
I wouldn't pass those up either. My Lowe's and H/D would rather throw the 'chids away than mark them down. I've even "begged"!!

Boy, MuscleGirl'sHobby last pic is pretty close to yours, probably one and the same but yours has a little extra punch......maybe it's just the photo.

Yeah, I like yellow, it's a happy color.......you know?

Bird Song... I think my Lowes and HD mostly just throw them away too. Time to start prowling the dumpster!! The woman was in the process of marking other items down when I asked... so I think that got me the break... price tag marker thingy was in hand! I've got 3 Home Depots in close range, 2 are just OK, got to get the plants before they've been there for a week. The last one is absolutely horrible. 60-70% of everything in their houseplants and orchids area is always dead, and they never mark anything down... they are however, happy to let completely dead plants sit there for days.

Biker Doc, WOW! The pics you posted are indeed very similar. Perhaps a variation of the hybridization? It seems the spot in your pics are more harlequin-ish (custom word modification there) and in mine they're individual teeny polka dots.

Hi Dorothy! The 7th phal is my favorite too It was the first one I picked out. The yellow one is actually very similar (if not the same) as a phal I've got that is not in bloom currently (past bloom is my avi pic). But, my daughter who is 7, wanted her own Orchid so bad so I told her to pick one out. That yellow was her pick.... Uh oh... such a tender young age for the fever to be contracted!

Hi Rolando! Nope, none of my phals came with names. I'd love to know them however. I asked at the nursery where I bought them since none of their orchids have tags. The Woman who handles their chid ordering is on vacation. If I can find out where they get them... perhaps I can find out exactly which ones I've got. I bought them each with just 1-2 blooms open so that I can fully enjoy them.... In bloom since March! I hope mine lasts that long!
