Blooming Now
A few pics of some things that are blooming for me right now. It is the "slow season" in my greenhouse, most of my Catt's and Phal's are winter/spring bloomers, so this time of year it's little guys and misc. stuff.
from left to right:
1st pic - 3 mini's, Den. torressae, Pths. tribuloides, Pths. grobyi. The Pths. grobyi is fairly new and first bloomed a few months ago, but has thrown out spikes pretty regularly since then. The Den. torressae has been in continuous bloom for over three years. The Pths. tribuloides blooms once a year, but very profusely and they last 2-3 months - it is on the downside now and had twice as many blooms a month ago.
2nd pic - closer look at Den. torressae
3rd pic - closer look at Pths. tribuloides
No close-up of the Pths. grobyi. Camera/lens isn't up to the job, but it is a fascinating little blossom, for those of you not familiar with it.
4th & 5th pics - Stenoglottis woodsii (a pretty small terrestrial).
6th pic - Bulb. 'Jersey
7th pic - Masd. 'Joyce Stewart'. Camera problems again, the picture doesn't capture the true color, it is a deep, bright orange, almost luminous.
8th pic - Trpla. (suavis x marginata). This blooms several times a year. My Trichopilia tortilis is about to bloom too. Even though it's not as colorful as this one, it is probably my favorite Trpla.
I hope everyone enjoys these.

Ed, is your Pths. tribuloides a first bloomer? Did it come from Andy's in bloom? Or did you go through a season or two? Reason I ask, is mine has one blossom only on the second time around and my tank conditions are probably not much diff from your conditions (temp wise.)

Ross,
I got it from Andy's, about 4 years ago, NOT in bloom at the time. As I recall, it was about a year before it first bloomed (it was pretty small when I got it), but it has been "regular" since then.
My conditions are intermediate-warm, temps 80-85 day, 60-65 night, humidity around 70-80%. Light is about "medium" probably 1500+ or so fc. I only truly water once a week, but the humidity seems to keep things O.K., even the ones that might like it a little wetter.
I don't know how much you have dealt with Andy's before, but if you call them, either Andy or Harry are happy to talk with people about orchid culture, problems, etc. Aside from a great selection of plants, I find them to be a great dealer and a resource for information.

Very nice collection, Ed. I'm especially partial to the Stenoglottis -- such a cute little thing. Thanks for sharing.
