Default Paph. Fairy Bird (Paph. fowliei x Paph. Fairrieanum)

My very first paph. I won this at auction in December at our Cape Cod orchid meeting. It was not in bloom, so eagerly anticipated this first bloom.

Paph. Fairy Bird (Paph. fowliei x Paph. Fairrieanum) with the drama-queen, Queen Anthurium, which does not appreciate anything other than being in the forefront in photos. It will be sulking later.

Sorry, but I believe that is mislabeled. That plant has a lot of Paph sukhakulii in it, hence the spotty petals.

I have attached a photo of the originator's plant that was used for registration purposes. Note the broader dorsale sepal, the stripes, and the slightly upswept petals, an influence of fairrieanum.

Thank you Ray. For the information and photo. I’ll add a note on my plant list. Since I got this at auction (and don’t know who the grower is) I have no recourse.
The photo they displayed with the spots and stripes were the selling point for me. So, I feel I got what I wanted in bloom, but now it’s going to be in that dreaded NOID group in my collection.
