Default recent blooms - Oct 2024

It's been overcast, foggy, and a little cooler in San Diego. I feel like we've had bursts of hot and cooler weather lately, and my plants have been a little sulky. My nobile type dendrobiums have been a little confused and decided to bloom here and there.

Laelia jongheana alba

Flower to plant ratio is amazing! Not sure how it has the energy, but I suppose it is a very slow growing plant.

A NoID Catt. Former bettergro bagbaby clearance rack snag. Nice citrusy fragrance.

NoID Sobralia hybrid. been blooming almost non-stop since purchase a few months ago!

Laelia pumila

Laelia x finckeniana 'Kennedys' just starting to bloom.

C johgheana does have a great flower-to-plant ratio. What surprises me is that it is bloom... mine all bloom in late March/early April. Any chance it's on a southern hemisphere schedule?

This one is a South American import from May, so it's likely still on their schedule. My other one I got from a nursery near the bay area, bloomed in May - June.
