Howeara ‘Lava burst’

This small red flower makes me very happy.

Very cheerful!
I have two of these. One blooms in winter, this one blooms in summer. I noticed that it takes the plant at least twice as long to develop flowers in colder conditions and color never gets as vibrant. Summer with higher temperatures and brighter days allows true colors to come thru as quickly as 1-1.5 week from the emergence of a tiny spike to fully developed buds opening.

mine bloomed about a month ago. this is a first blooming in my care. I don't think mine was that red, and only 3 blooms. I'm just glad it bloomed for me this year. yours is very pretty.
