Default Blc. Yellow Bird

5 days open and still peach, these tend to get yellow as the flower matures.

I personally love the candy splash and the deep purple spots. No fragrance yet.

I purchased it in a 2-inch basket in July 2023. These nodosa hybrids get out of control, so I potted it up in a 5-inch basket right away. Vigorous grower.

Mine is still a baby so I'll not see blooms this year, but these photos are whetting my appetite. Thanks for posting.

Looks great!

I always like the Brassovola + Cattleya hybrids over regular Cattleyas. Don't know why.

Blooms on mine all start out a pale yellow, then transform to brighter yellow. No peachy toned petals here.

Kinda hoping it keeps the orange-peach gradient, at least a little bit. I love the golden hour colors, plus the thin wavy petals looking like a starfish make me think I'm watching the sunset from the beach... Maybe I have orchid-obsession-induced hallucinations

It is its first bloom, though. I feel it takes orchids several years and bloom cycles to find a stable flower shape that they stick to, plus the effects of culture...

Mine is in bloom like 75% of the time, no fragrance however.

Nice! A lovely cross.
Mine is fragrant only if it's in sun.

Aaaaand they're yellow now!

Looking good still tho, despite being almost 8 weeks open there's almost no sign of wilting!
