The site just dropped for a little while, it's back. Sometimes it is a bit flaky.

Hi, i don´t know if this will help you, but my Laelia Anceps spike took 6 months to grow and open flower. Once the new grothw stopped growing, the leaf became open and the spike started to grow (late june). The flower opened for Christmas and lasted around 4 weeks.

Hi Pep

Mine usually has two blooming seasons: one around Christmas and another in June/July. I don't know if this is normal but that how it happens.

Boa tarde rbarata,
You are lucky, maybe is the weather were you live. My anceps have been with me for not too long, and even if they have started new growth several times per year, only winter growths have started spikes, but out of three, only one reached maturity and presented me with flower, the other two just stopped growing. I have seen now that new roots are growing, so i expect new growths soon. We will see,

IOSPE says that the blooming season is between Autumn and Summer, which is the time span of my bloomings.
It blooms twice but the blooming season is the same
As it is a large plant, it keeps growing sucessive new growths in that time span and respective blooms.
That's my theory.

You might be right, you cover all season along. I will keep an eye on mines, as they are getting bigger and they start new growths at least twice a year, maybe new growths, winter or summer, end with an spike.
