Prosthechea & Dendrobium
Default Prosthechea & Dendrobium

This spring I was disappointed when I briefly mistook Prosthechea cochleata growing a new bulb out of an old bulb as a spike. Thankfully, I didn't have to wait long because it has two actual spikes now, the first of which is just blooming.

Second is a Dendrobium atroviolaceum hybrid (I think) that I picked up bone dry with no living roots. It's doing much better now and has re-bloomed from an old bulb. I'm hoping the new growths bloom soon too.

Well done! That Psh. cochleata is likely to keep on blooming and blooming. When these get going, they can produce flowers sequentially for months. Enjoy!
