Default December blooms

Here are a few things in bloom...

Vanda Pachara Delight

Cattleya jenmanii
Very compact form with a vibrant lip. This one has a pronounced sweet-rose fragrance that is quite strong.

Sophronitis cernua

Laelia x Finckeniana 'Kennedy's'

Anacheilium garcianum

Maxillaria scalariformis

Cattleya walkeriana

Doing surprisingly well outside here, when the morning lows have been going down into the upper 30s. Now 7 blooms open... and the fragrance is amazing!

A riot of color! A wonderful antidote to dark winter days.

That Cattleya jenmanii is so beautifully presented. Great color on the vanda!

Esp. love the Pachara. Its growth form strongly favors is coerulea lineage. So nice!

Does the walkeriana have 'Divina' in the background?

No, I don't think so. It's 'Dwayne Wenzel' x 'The Chairman' which I suppose has some C. nobilior in it. Isn't 'Divinia' a flammea?

Ah, I see! I thought I saw a more star shaped flower with some flares in the original photo.

I know 'The Chairman' has some loddigesii heritage in it, what make you say its got some nobilior?

Ahh I misspoke (mistyped?), I meant to say C. loddogesii from ‘Pendentive’
