Ooo, that second one is a stunner. Maybe flower count will be higher in future bloomings! I bought two Zip siblings from SVO's 2022 list, and they grow very differently, so I'm looking forward to seeing the differences in the flowers soon. I tend to love Rupicolous hybrids - clusters, red/rich coloration, taller spikes - I never grow tired of them.

BTW, I was just down in the south and Better-Gro bag babies are back! I picked up a Golden Sunburst and a few others to fly back with me to the mountains after you posted yours blooming.

I don't have many rupicolous laelias but I'm ready for more! Do you have a recommendation?

Ohh, I'm jealous you got some Better-Gro bag babies! Those were always fun to find. what else did you get?

It seems that most rupics are hard to find right now, but I'm a sucker for reds/yellows - although I'd take any that showed up at my door. I think briegeri is a good starter species, it seems to be most widely available alongside cinnabarina. I'm on the lookout for some milleri plants, because that's my personal favorite and one of the few true red flowers.

I purchased the Golden Sunburst, a Richard Mueller x Triumphans, and a C. Christian Starr 'Aloha' (really nice semi alba bifoliate with spots and striations) for myself! Got my mom started with a few plants herself, since she can grow outdoors for much of the year.
