Default Cattleya (Laelia) Purpurata 'Lisa x Coconut' Bloom

I bought this mature Cattleya (Laelia) Purpurata (tag says 'Lisa x Coconut') from Marlow's during their final open house last summer (July I believe). There were many plants Jim was selling from his personal collection, this being one.

Being a bit of a sentimental plant for me (Marlow's was down the road from me, it was very sad to see it close) I wanted so badly for this to bloom and do well. After a bit of patience, I woke up to these beautiful blooms this morning!

Has anyone heard of this cross? I have not been able to locate it's registry... Regardless, I am so proud and the flowers are very, very lovely!

Default

It's not a hybrid. Each parent was a C. purpurata. The parents don't have awards listed but somebody decided they were good enough to name.

I would contact nurseries selling purpuratas and ask whether they recognize those clonal names.
