phal yang yang supermodel (gigantea alba x yungho gelb canary) is for sure one of our favorite hybrids! love this flower, and the plant is very robust

also the paphiopedilum hennissianum came into flower. the petals aren't as swoopy as we were hoping, but hopefully it might improve over time...

phal wossner mucke is blooming again, and a happy day at our house since we cut a seed cap off this in early april....our first hybrid! didn't seem to phase this one, honestly. in fact, last year it only bloomed at most 2 flowers at a time, so happy with the improvement when other things are laaaagging!

tmoneys phlowering phals and such-phalwossmosq-jpg

and the paph callosum finally opened. altho we are ever on the quest for "perfect" paph flowers. this is a great plant, but certainly aint winning any awards, hehehehe. hopefully future blooms will be better, but it makes me wonder if perhaps a bit of dehydration is in play....

that is a cool angle you took that pic at! it shows off the lip but also gives very different shape to the mannii

thanks dc! always tryin to improve the photos. actually i am pretty proud of that particular pic cause it is so hard for me to photograph white flowers or white parts and get definition. finally i was able to get all the lighting and everything right on the mannii photo sesh and get good color and a nice white balance that shows off that hairy lip!

but yeah, it was quite a long session with a lot of moving lights and finicking and pretty much only this one satisfactory pic. this one is a focus stack of about 30 images if iirc, and in total that day i took 500 or so images of this plant. oh well...such is life i suppose! thank you for noticing and mentioning it tho!

haven't posted many pics lately for various reasons, but happy we got this one to bloom! a nice paph, and a good easy one for beginners like us...

we didn't update the bets on bloom time competitions for the bellatulum (cause we wanted to stop pestering you all with that!), but the bloom race for these two paphs was riveting! for us, anyway

we've taken the game to our yt channel if you wanna play, check in! these 2 bloomed within 2 days of each other!!

anyways, hope you enjoy

I'd like to know what you use for your background? That black isn't reflecting any light and I struggle with this. Thanks.
