I purchased this orchid last year as my first oncidium. I repotted immediately not knowing to wait for new roots to show. It had no new growth even starting yet. It was a seedling bulb with one mature bulb with two spikes. I cut the spikes after the plant started to shrivel its bulbs. I ended up losing the seedling bulb to desiccation before the new growth formed and started to grow roots. Here we are on year later and the new growth has matured and put out a spike with 46 buds. All the buds opened up nicely, and came with a surprise...this orchid is fragrant. I did not realize that when I bought it. The fragrance is fairly week most of the time, but first thing in the morning when the sun hits it I can smell it from several feet away. I have a picture of the root system, but it is blurry. Will try again tomorrow and post it in the root xxx thread.
