6 Orchids Blooming!
Default 6 Orchids Blooming!

Thank you so much all for helping me get past my orchid killing stage! I struggled a lot for the first few months, but have finally somehwat stabilized my very small collection. The orchids that I have messed up at the beginning are now recovering and growing new roots and shoots!

Here are finally the flowers of my labors and your knowledge!

Most are Phals. but I think my proudest moment was blooming my cattleya hybrid.

There is also one dendrobium nobile, which I feel like I didn't bloom very well, only 3 flowers, but better than nothing. When it arrived it had slow release fertilizer attached in a little container. The grower said to leave it there until spring (of this year), which I did. I read that we should not fertilize after the leaves fall, and against what I read, I followed the grower's instructions. I'm not sure if that's what's causing so little flowers. Please weigh in with an opinion.

I am so grateful for this forum, you all pulled me toward the light in my darkest hour!!

Nice work. I have a Phal which seems to be almost the same as the one in the 2nd photo (probably the 4th photo is from the same plant).
