Default Polystachya neobenthamia

This is such a great species! Some folks may know it as Neobenthamia gracilis, but it has been renamed. I made a video, in addition to the photos: Show & Tell- Polystachya neobenthamia - YouTube

Well done!
Mine was a casualty of my recent roof cleaning debacle but fortunately I had removed a keiki to share before it happened. While that might not be shared, at least I’ll get to try again. This time in a wee pot

This has been one of my favorite species for a long time and I recently added one to my collection! What do you pot yours in? Mine is currently in fine bark, which seems to be a bit on the dry side for my watering schedule as it did not grow much in the way of roots this season. Any water tips would be appreciated too, I have had some trouble tracking down definitive info on how to take care of it.

Mine is in 50-50 peat-sand mix in a clay pot. It gets hit with water every day during summer, but it also gets full Texas sun.

Wow, that's crazy! I had no idea! I'm really surprised there's no "chemical free" version!

I also just noticed that you made a post about this plant in July! How many times does it bloom each year?

It’s pretty free blooming. Mine was spiking before it was acid bathed.

At this size, it seems to bloom whenever it feels like! This was definitely the larger of the two blooms though.
